Session Description: Necrotizing Tissue Infections are difficult diagnosis to make. They are notable for high mortality and devastating morbidity unless diagnosis is made early and promptly treated. The current diagnosis assessment tools, including NRINEC, are not sensitive or specific enough early in the course of disease to have made any significant improvements in morbidity and mortality from NTI. Over the next 20 minutes, we will learn to utilize available resources in a novel way to make early, accurate diagnosis of NTI and expedite the definitive treatment.
Learning Objectives:
Define clinical and histological characteristics of NTI.
Understand why LRINEC Score is not useful in early presentation of NTI.
demonstrate readily usable combination of techniques to make early diagnosis of NTI.
Define clinical and histological characteristics of NTI.
