Session Description: This will be a brief, high-yield primer on the emergency management of pulmonary hypertension patients, including critical aspects of assessment and identification of steps that deviate from the traditional resuscitation skill set. We will also highlight critical pharmacology for these patients. Participants will be well prepared to treat these challenging patients the next time they arrive in your department!
Learning Objectives:
Rapidly identify and classify the severity of patients presenting with pulmonary hypertension.
Describe the initial steps for stabilization, especially those that deviate from standard resuscitation approaches.
Demonstrate knowledge of the critical pharmacological needed to appropriately address crashing pulmonary hypertension patients.
Rapidly identify and classify the severity of patients presenting with pulmonary hypertension.
