This talk will go over special considerations for emergency department management of the pre-term neonate both at the time of delivery and the NICU graduate who shows up for evaluation in your shop. This is a unique group of patients with specific needs and risk factors not present in the full term neonate.
Learning Objectives:
After this session participants will identify the details that are specific to pre-term neonates in the NRP algorithm.
After this session participants will be able to interpret neonatal specific lab values, and develop a plan for management of respiratory concerns.
After this session learns will be able to recognize concerning signs of pre-term specific pathology including special considerations for infection risks and those with abdominal complaints.
After this session participants will identify the details that are specific to pre-term neonates in the NRP algorithm.
